Things will be made far worse by AI powered weapons, drones, killer robots, etc. that will make it easy for the rich or the tyrant to slaughter the poor. If history is anything to go by the wealthy countries will invest in new high tech weapons to use against the poor with their rusty AK-47s. The result will be lots of dead poor people.
