America’s largest grocer, Walmart (WMT), is growing dramatically. For example, Walmart’s quarterly revenues grew by 5.46% from $160.80 billion in October 2023 to $169.59 billion in October 2024.

Impressively, Walmart’s quarterly net income grew by 910.38% from $453 million in October 2023 to $4.58 billion in October 2024. Thus, Walmart’s money making capacity is growing dramatically.

Walmart’s sales are growing. They claim Walmart’s US sales grew by 5.3% from $109.4 billion in October 2023 to $114.9 billion in October 2024. Similarly, Sam’s Club’s sales grew by 7% from $22 billion in October 2023 to $22.9 billion billion October 2024. Finally, Walmart International’s sales grew by 12.4% from $28 billion in October 2023 to $30.3 billion in October 2024. Finally, they claim Walmart’s US ecommerce sales grew by 22% in the third quarter of 2024.

Walmart’s success shows how lucrative the grocery business can be. Walmart is America’s grocer. This success is impressive Gourmetpro estimates there were 62,383 supermarkets in the United States in 2023. Indeed, Statista estimates Walmart sales accounted for 23.6% of the US grocery market in 2023. Walmart achieved these sales were just 4,700 stores.
