The pandemic is devastating retail because government has closed nonessential stores in many areas. In fact, Business Insider over 90 major US retail brands had closed stores on 23 March 2020. Thus many of those retailers are not making any money.
For example, sales at clothing stores fell by 78.8% and sales at electronics and appliance stores fell by 60.6% April 2020, Business Insider . Therefore, I conclude most clothing retailers will die.
