Why do we need Merlin Chain (MERL)?

I am skeptical of the whole premise of Merlin Chain (MERL). If its website is believable. Merlin’s goal is to turn Bitcoin (BTC) into Ethereum (ETH).

More accurately, Merlin’s goal is to make Bitcoin’s blockchain operate like the Ethereum blockchain. Ethereum’s blockchain is more popular than Bitcoin’s because it is more flexible. For example, you can connect other blockchains to the Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM). The EVM is the digital computer that runs Ethereum.
